Kim Jong you trickster.

North Korea have really outdone themselves this time; 2 missile launches AND a nuclear bomb test in 24hrs. My, my kim, you really have been busy - you ailing extortionist. Iran doesn't look so bad now does it.. Fare thee well Non-proliferation treaty.

She may shit us all to tears...

But the girl can dress... Also, cannot remember where I appropriated the collage from; if by chance anyone - more than some wayward googler - actually reads this blog, and you recognises it as your own handywork, let me know and I'll credit you.

I've come of age comrades: Miranda has learned to stop worrying and now loves the bomb.

I celebrated my birthday this wknd. Had a wicked 48hrs of delicious homemade food, presents, friends, family and vietnamese food (even though my original restaurant lost my fucking reservation - bastardsss). I got a sewing machine too! Cannot begin to explain just how GLEEFUL I felt when I unwrapped that. It's german made, it's mega pretty and its got 100,000 different stitch settings and I have NO idea how to use it. Thank christ it came with 4 free lessons. What the fuck is a Bobbin? I always thought it was a disney character but my mother informs me its got something to do with the string.. This should be interesting. And these pictures detail what I wore out for my birthday celebrations with my friendssss.

And out of the lair they slithered, into a blaze of white heat and glory.

I love love love the street fashion of Seoul and Tokyo forevermore.

Quentin Blake, hero.

I can't even begin to explain just how seered into my brain each of his Roald Dahl covers are. He has drawn some of the best villains ever - The Witches? The Twits? Come on, how deliciously sinful were they! And how jaunty did he make the Fantastic Mr Fox look! God I miss Roald Dahl. If you haven't read Boy and Going Solo, get on it. They are my favourite autobiographies EVER.

Japanese abalone divers.

These women are magnificent. I was introduced to them during one of my sociology lectures last year. The lecturer had carried out some field research, living with the divers for a few months. These particular photographs though were taken circa 1960 by another anthropologist who also studied them. These women are part of an all female community of abalone divers from an island just off the coast of Japan. Even today, the women still free dive (as in without any diving gear, but yes also in the sense that they dive nude too) so that they are limited in the amount of abalone they can harvet, thus preventing the abalone population in their area from becoming depleted. Bless their sustainability conscious little hearts.

Irina Lazareanu, god bless you.

How good. Amen sister.
